Obituary for Irvin Frederick Baetz

Irvin Frederick Baetz, of Hanover, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Hanover & District Hospital in his 85th year.

Loving father of Darlene and her husband Ramon Krecetas of London, Barry and his wife Tammy (Rogers) of South Wales, NY and LoriAnn Baetz-Abdey and her husband Scott Abdey of St. Thomas. Cherished grandfather of Erika Baetz, Nicholas Baetz, Rosalyn Abdey and Lucas Abdey. Dear brother of Lloyd (Myrna) Baetz and Edward (Sharon) Baetz . He will be remembered by his niece Tara (James) Baldwin and nephew Kolin (Kelly) Baetz and the Schnurr family.

Irvin was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth Baetz (nee McDonald), second wife Catherine Baetz (nee Schnurr) and his parents Henry and Margaret (nee Kaufman) Baetz.

Irvin’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton (1106 Yonge Street) from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Herb Klaehn officiating.

Memorial donations to St. Paul’s United Church or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. www.cameronfuneralhomes.com

Oh my! We had no idea! We are lawn bowling in Walkerton and Hanover quite often and missed seeing Irv. He was the most friendly, tender-hearted guy around! He always had a smile and never complained that we heard. What a generous soul to be travelling upwards. He will leave a hole in all your hearts but lasting memories of the gentle and kind spirit he was.

We are so sad to hear of your passing and have shed many tears over this loss. Irvin you were a very beloved cousin and friend who always took time to smile and laugh with us and to remind us that life has it's ups and downs but it all works out eventually. In Olivia's words Irvin was always happy".

Your love for family, hard work, the farm, unions and for community is a legacy that you have left for your family and all of those that you touched.

You taught me much about life in our visits with Jean and Walter and in our drives to your family property, your Mom and Dad's farm and to the Kauffman farm to visit Johnny.

You were often reminiscent of the fantastic life you shared with your parents and brothers, Lloyd and Eddie, on the farm and your huge extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jean and Walter will especially miss seeing you each and every day and they both have shed many tears this last week over your loss.

Irvin we love you, will never forhet you and take this moment to celebrate the fullness and beauty of the life that you lived.
