Leonardus "Leo" Al, of Walkerton, passed away on Monday, August 7th, 2017 at Walkerton Hospital. He was 81.
Beloved husband of Margaret Al (nee McGarrity) for 58 years. Loving father of Paula (Tom) Rogers, Jim (Marilyn), Jan (Steve) Buehlow and Dave (Angie). Proud grandpa of Andrew, Adam and Allan Rogers, Matthew (Nicole), Jamie (Dallus), Derek (Sadie) and Curtis Al, Brittany (Brett) and Tory (Aaron) Buehlow and Tessa and Hailey Al and great-grandpa of Hayden Al.

Dear brother of Corrie (Gerry) Duynisveld, John Al, Tiny Wessels, Helen (John) Ryan, Bart Al, Hank (Cheryl) Al, Joe (Jaquie) Al, Tony (Vera) Al and brother-in-law of Elaine Al, Sharon Wingenbach, Pauline Siegfried (Arthur) and Pat (Bob) Poechman.

Leo was predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Helena Al, his siblings Cornelius (Corrie) Al, Chris Al, Anna (Jerome) Dietrich, Nick Al and Peter Al, his brother-in-law Anoton Wessels, sister-in-law Lenore Al, his parents-in-law Peter and Marjorie McGarrity, brothers-in-law Peter McGarrity and Jim Siegfried.

Leo was born in Loosduinen, Netherlands, on September 12, 1935 and immigrated to Canada in April 1952.Leo was a very dedicated man who loved his wife and family dearly and was proud of all of them.

He was a very hardworking man and was employed in the building trade for over 25 years before starting Leo Al's Contracting which recently celebrated 40 years of successful business.

He enjoyed many years at his cottage at Eidt's Grove tending to his beautiful gardens and pond, which were his pride and joy. After the work was done, he enjoyed relaxing and socializing with his many friends and neighbours in The Grove.

Leo's pallbearers are Matthew Al, Jamie Al, Derek Al, Curtis Al, Brett Hawkins and Aaron Pope and his flower bearers are Tessa Al, Hailey Al, Brittany Buehlow and Tory Buehlow.

Leo's family will receive relatives and friends for a casual visitation from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with Parish Prayers at 8:45 pm, on Thursday, August 10th, 2017 at the Cameron Funeral Home (1106 Yonge St. S, Walkerton). Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 11th, 2017 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church (221 Victoria Street, Walkerton) Rev. Tom Moisan officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall.

Cremation and a private family interment in Calvary Cemetery, Walkerton will take place at a later date.
